You may have heard about your automobile having a magnetic wheel speed sensor. You could have heard that your auto requires a magnetic wheel speed sensor for improved safety. It is important that you understand what it is and how it works so you can understand the significance of it working in your automobile.

We all know that vehicles today are far safer than they were long ago. Many new technologies have been put into place that provide a safer experience. The very first thing that is evoked isn't the wheel speed sensor, but rather airbags, and crumple protection from collisions and so forth .

However, the wheel speed sensor is just as important in many key ways . It has provided the foundation for a variety of safety measures that we now take for granted in the majority of our vehicles. As technology continues to improve, they are paving the path for further enhancements, some of which are becoming available and may become compulsory one day.

To begin with, a magnetic wheel speed sensor is an instrument which uses magnetic fields and electrical currents to exactly and quickly measure the rate of your wheels as their axles turn. This, in turn, provides you with an accurate measurement of your speed.

Trying the wheel speed sensor to other areas, the antilock brake system was created. This prevents your brakes from jamming up by mechanically pumping them faster than you ever could. It's vital to have correct speed measurements for this system to kick into place.

The wheel speed sensor was then added to and improved on to measure different wheels more particularly or individually. This development permitted for the creation of traction control. Traction control systems compare the speeds of each axle, to see if one is moving quicker than the other and then employs to help fix the situation automatically.

The most recent technology to derive from the wheel speed sensor is electronic stability control. Stability control systems are already available in many higher end vehicles, and as options in other vehicles. They make use of a much more in depth system of sensors in various locations to help to keep the car safe in all sorts of conditions and hazards.

The wheel speed sensor has come a ways, and it's accountable for plenty of the safety systems that modern automobiles have. The airbags may catch more interest, but it it's the magnetic wheel speed sensor working behind the scenes, enabling your ABS, traction control and stability control systems to function that's also responsible for protected you and your passengers as you run.

You could be wondering why exactly your auto needs a car speed sensor. Clearly knowing how briskly you are going is important, but how exactly is this info used and why is it essential? Find out for yourself the power of the vehicle speed sensor under.

A vehicle speed sensor is really far more complicated than what you may have realized. Today's sensors really make the cars you drive safer and protect the passengers from a selection of dangers.

The first invention with the automobile speed sensor came in the anti-lock brake systems, or ABS, which we all now know about. By capitalizing on magnetic and electric currents, the velocity of the wheels may be more meticulously and quickly gauged compared to older techniques.

Next let's look at traction control systems. Traction control systems were a natural development from ABS, and they have the added power of being able to compare and adjust for the speed of the driven wheels from the rate of the wheels on the other axis.

The power of anti-lock brakes and traction control have made automobiles over the last decade or two noticeably more safe than they were formerly. Having the power of a vehicle speed sensor in all vehicles has saved many lives, and now makers have been taking things a bit further.

The most recent technology is a complete electronic stability control system. This sort of system builds on these technologies for a much more complete automobile speed sensor. In fact, multiple sensors are employed in the wheels, the steering wheel, the brakes and the throttle to color a complete image of a car's performance and your reactions in all situations.

If you're taking a turn too sharply or hit a slick spit, all of these factors are instantly computed and a reaction is immediately put into effect, saving many accidents from ever going down. Early reports have shown that this application of the automobile speed sensor has reduced heavy injuries from single car collisions by as much as 50%.

While many folks feel that a car speed sensor permanence system must now be compulsory, they aren't yet. If you're attempting to find the most in security for you and your relations, purchase a auto that features this kind of safety.

Car sensors nowadays have really improved compared to the sensors of years ago. Improvements in technology have made automobile sensors stronger and more accurate. As a result, the info you receive is quite accurate and the vehicle is also safer in a variety of scenarios.

The first speed sensors used were ropes with knots on them. They were used by ships in ancient times and it's where the measurement system of knots came about. It's a great thing today that our auto sensors have come a long way since this first method.

Older vehicles used to have automobile sensors that depended on cables. This worked quite simply, as your wheel axis turned, wires were pulled which gauged how much distance you traveled how quickly, determining your speed.

These auto sensors worked on essentially the same idea behind the knot system that used to be utilized in ships and boats. While the application to automobiles was beneficial, it was also filled with flubsand inconveniences.

Tire size, spindle length and various other considerations on individual automobile models could change the measurement that the car sensors produced. The result was information that wasn't 100% trustworthy and varied between different models and makes.

Today's automobiles are much more complicated, and technology has come a long way. With the addition of ABS, or anti-lock brakes, new magnetic auto sensors started to be used. The magnetic system picks up on the movement of metals, in part through an electrical current surrounding the magnet itself. The info is instantly carried by wires to your gauge, instantly churning out calculations for how quick you are moving.

Car sensors capitalizing on the power of magnets have made cars much safer today. As mentioned, ABS is dependent on this technology. Additionally, further advancements, many based in theory on ABS, also depend on this technology. Stability control systems and electronic stability programs make use of this phenomenon as well .

Obviously, vehicle sensors have come a long way from their humble roots on the side of ships as ropes with knots tied in them. Today's car sensors use complicated magnetic and electrical systems which instantly generate highly precise information, which is now being used to increase car and passenger protection.

What are your thoughts on the subject?
